Cape Resonate is an international volunteer hosting and placement agency based in Cape Town, South Africa with more than 10 years’ experience in this field. We provide our clients with authentic, affordable and meaningful volunteer and internship experiences whilst placed at our various local NPOs across our Mother City Cape Town. We pride ourselves in working closely with projects contributing towards improving the situation and social ills in our local under privileged communities.
Each of our projects has been personally vetted by members of our Cape Resonate team. We work hard to make sure that our information about all our projects is accurate, comprehensive and up to date for you to make an informed decision regarding joining one or more of our projects. All our projects best interests are always at heart and is considered our extended family hence our mutual beneficial relationship with them.
We believe that volunteering abroad is two-fold. It’s not only about the hands-on assistance and skills that volunteers bring it’s also about what this amazing country, its people and its rich cultural heritage and diversity can offer the volunteer in return. It is therefore our responsibility to ensure volunteers have a life-changing, fun and fulfilling experience during their stay. Our client base ranges from school going/finishing ages wanting to volunteer or do a gap year abroad or an internship related to university studies. Not forgetting about our more mature/retired individual wanting to do a sabbatical with a purpose abroad as well.

your stay in South Africa by offering both structured and tailor-made packages to suit your
interests, studies and preference.
PROGRAMS YOU CAN BE INVOLVED IN

Childcare

Assist in taking care of
children from under privileged communities at a children center or kindergarten. These children’s ages could range from baby infants as young as 3 months up to 5 years old.

Teaching
Assisting teachers in classrooms or preparing your own lessons to teach kids. This is possible at both Primary school & High School levels.
Community
Development

General volunteering assistance in feeding schemes, gardening projects, after school study/homework clubs, youth development programs, during school or after school sport programs, Community areas upliftment projects, etc.

Penguin Sanctuary

Volunteers needed for the day to day running of this non-profit organization whose primary objective is to reverse the decline of seabird populations through the rescue, rehabilitation and release of ill, injured, abandoned and oiled seabirds, especially endangered species like the African penguin.


Cheetah Sanctuary

Is a non-profit organization that works to protect and co-exist with free roaming cheetahs in South Africa. Volunteer assistance is needed in the day to day running of the sanctuary that is home to mainly cheetahs but to caracal, servals, bat-eared foxes, jackal, meerkats, dogs and tortoises.

Elderly Care
A community Frail Care Centre is a non-profitable organization that caters for the needs of the frail, elderly and physically incapacitated from under privileged communities. They always looking forward to the assistance offered by volunteers.
Special Needs

We have access to various projects that specifically cater to a range of special needs kid’s programs where you can volunteer or do your internship at.

Surf Project
General volunteering at a project where the use of surfing as a form of engagement and empowerment by providing safe spaces and structured afterschool programs for at-risk children and youth in coastal communities; and offers mentorship, job creation, skills development, and holistic support to marginalized youth and communities in Cape Town.


Football Project

After school sport programs that specifically focuses on football training, skills development and fitness techniques related to improving overall football abilities for kids from under privileged communities.

Therapeutic Horse-Riding Therapy
A project that offers free horse-riding therapy sessions for persons living with disabilities, aimed to promote social wellbeing and to improve the quality of participants lives through training, exercise, recreation and rehabilitation. The assistance of volunteers and those fond of horses are always welcomed.
